ok here is a list of dreamcast dev tools and by the looks I remember seeing that GTP was being coded in C++

Well these tools seem to indicate a dev process where C++ code can be placed on a Dreamcast format disc

Tell me if this is just a hopeless fantasy

Sure, you can code in C/C++ for the Dreamcast. But it's not like you can drag-and-drop the code for another platform. I'd probably end up rewriting 90% of the code, because it's all built around building N64 RDP displaylists. The N64 is a weird beast, the Dreamcast shares a lot more similarities betweeen itself and modern systems.

In any case, I'm keeping the high-res textures I have, and the additional textures I make for objects will have a 32x32 N64 version as well as the original. So, if the time comes to port GTP to the Dreamcast, we won't be stuck with blurry textures.

Well if dreamcast is halfway between current gen and n64,then youv could port the dreamcast game to the other three!

I was just thinking that the core of the C++ code could be transferred over and the dreamcast boot up areas could be applied at the top

But what do I know...
