So, while its on, you will need both plugged in to play and charge?
Are they possible to combine?
Are they possible to combine?
Cheers,

Re: Wiring lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries
2 things would be required:
1. a charging circuit connected to the batteries that splits the voltage, half going to the battery pack, and the other half to the system
2. a charger that can supply enough current for both.
Someone would have to design a specific circuit for that, and that would be expensive/not something the average portablizer would implement.

But it would be possible to charge and play off of wall power at the same time using two separate adapters?
Code: Select all

Here's another one: Would it work to use a 7V wall power adapter instead of a 7.2V one?

It depends on what you're powering. If the power goes into a 7805 linear voltage regulator then 7v would be fine. If it is something that specifically goes straight into the board, you might still be fine, all that would happen would be that the system/circuit wouldn't turn on, no damage would be done.wajimba wrote:Here's another one: Would it work to use a 7V wall power adapter instead of a 7.2V one?
Banned indefinitely if you desperately need to contact me STOPPHONESPAMPLOX Please dont be a dick and call for something random like "HEY YURDRUE DOO U HAZ SPAM?"

Re: Wiring lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries
Question. I happen to have stumbled upon some CHEAP Li-ion batteries at Goodwill and picked up two. They are each rated 7.4V 2000mAh (LISG160, offbrand battery for Samsung Camcorders if you're interested). I plan on using a 7805 regulator, I'm also using the Retroduo)
If I buy the charger that is typically supposed to charge one of these babies at a time, will it charge them both without a hitch if they are in parallel, or will I just cause something to explode?
(Edited since I found some of my answers)

Mega bump, but I have a question. Don't you need to have a -7.4 charge going to the system as well?

Re: Wiring lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries
With my topic, reckon any of you could help me there?
I got the protection circuit (honk kong lol) and the battery and the charger.

Thanks

Re: Wiring lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries
Why would you have a negative charge when you need a positive to charge the battery?agentwd40 wrote:Mega bump, but I have a question. Don't you need to have a -7.4 charge going to the system as well?
Are you confused with Ground??
Re: Wiring lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries
probably... I just noticed my gamecube had two power pins and assumed I needed positive and negative. So it one of them a ground pin then?
EDIT: This is what I was talking about... this chart says I need a negativly charged wire feeding next to the positive one: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=32713" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
