I also recomend you get this, for less soldering issues.

And could you guide me through it? Also does the switch voltage matter?

that battery should be ok.
it also already have PCB so you can charge it safetly.

to charge it, you should use a little more voltage of the battery capacity.

if the battery is 14.8v you can try recharging with 16 or 17 volts.

I also used a 14.8v battery pack for my old project, it was a laptop battery pack
http://www.laptopbatterymart.com/laptop ... series.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I remember I used a 18.5v or a 19.5v charger to recharge it and had no issues with it ^^

it may run for arround 2 hours, maybe a little less, it depends of the screen.

I noticed the battery I used was 6600h and your pack is only your pack is 4400mAh (the more mAh the better for playing time ^^), and it is cheaper than your pack $49.11 vs $71.99.

however your pack looks smaller (better to fit into the portable case)

your choice :)

I think I got arround 2,5 - 3 hours of playtime with my portable with the 6600mAh batteries ^^

You can use a laptop battery????!?!?!?!?
Can i use a camera battery(14.8v 6600mAh) and is there a battery that you reccomend using??
Do i have to "bridge" a connection to the psone screen for power on it? is there a guide i can follow for that?
As for the 20-22 gauge wire all im finding are stero wire is that what i use or do i use something else? what type did you use?

yeah, you can use any battery wich meet the minimal specs, and that camera battery does ^^

all you need is locate the + and - pins and wire them to the system.

you also will need to design a charge way if you dont want to use its original camera to charge it ;)

mmm, not sure about the psone screen bridge, anyway you will need some voltage regulators for the ps1 screen, since you cannot put more than 7.5v at the psone screen, for psone screen, this topic will be usefull

I dont remember the kind of wire I used, there has been a while since I did anything related to any portable ^^

try reading my portable project log, it is also full of pictures ^^

then connect the yellow wire directly without using a resistor.

some people told me the resistor is only avalible at the european cables.

anyway, if you notice the input image at the screen is too bright or that the strenght is to high (almost white image), you will need a variable resistor to adjust the image until it is ok

I calibrated the resistor while the system was on until I got the desired results ^^

when wireing the screen did you only use the AV output cables?

nope, in my case I used a european gamecube and screen.

I had to adjust the variable resistor to get rid of the bad image quality, since the signal was too strenght and it was almost white.

you can try without a resistor, and if you notice the image have the sysmtoms mentionated before, use a variable resistor.
