Broken PSP

Post by hyliandeity03 » Mon Aug 20, 2012 7:53 pm

I have an original psp that hasn't read disks for several years now. Is there some way to fix that? If not can I use it for parts for Overclocking a GBC, or rehouse a GBC or GBA SP inside it's case? If I can, can I hook up either of those to the screen already in the PSP? Thanks

You should be able to get a replacement lazer from eBay.

Is it definitely the laser that's broken? I was playing a game and it was taking forever to load so I shut it off and it hasn't read discs since so that makes sense but is there any way to be sure?

If it doesn't read the disks then it would be the lazer, other than that the lazer could be dirty.

Ok. I'm not sure if I want to get into replacing the laser right now, but thanks for the info!
