GBC/GBP Gameshark

Okay, I have a version 3.1 gameshark that has always been a bit finicky, but it finally quit working on me. Last night I was trying to load some trainers on a game (Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 for GBC), after getting them working, I did something (not quite sure what) and now I can't boot up my gameshark. I start it up with it on, game plugged in, and I all I get is the occasional gameboy startup screen followed by a black screen, then a blank screen. This may seem like a weird question, but is there some way to fix this?

Edit: Just read this thread on another forum that linked me to this page. It looks like I may be able to re-flash it, but I need another gameshark. Has anyone ever dealt with this stuff? It just seems sort of queer to me....
