GBA SP charging

so i lost my SP charger so i wanted to know if its possible just for ease of use to take out the SP charging port and replace it with a mini usb charging port???

The GBA SP Charger provides 5.2 volts, and USB ports provide 5 volts. It might be worth trying since there must be some circuitry that regulates the voltage to the 3.6 Volts that the GBA's battery needs.

You could temporarily wire a 5V source up to the GBA SP's charger port, and see if that works to charge your battery.
