This is nice, but doesn't anyone have a guide for MGB instead of DMG? I have seen literally dozens of DMG back lighting guides, but NONE for the MGB. Zero. What gives? I imagine there are differences, but until I know what those are I am really reluctant to fiddle with the backing on my MGB's screen.

The MGB is a lot more risky. :( I think me and Bibin are the only ones on the net, along with Sony, to do it! Yay us!

Sony, this is a fantastic guide!

Indeed, a nice DIY guide. I am working on a way to help eliminate some of the risk involved in doing the Pocket mod. Most of the risk comes from the grey ribbon cable attached to the screen, which is flimsier than most and can be easily damaged. You can, however, desolder the connection located at the bottom of the LCD safely (if you do it right) and reassemble it without too much trouble or special tools. This allows you to move the ribbon away during the removal of the adhesive. That's the second problem with these, which is that stupid adhesive backing on the two layers. On the old DMG it just peels off in one piece almost, but on the pocket it tends to be a huge mess.

This guide is awesome! If only it would've been done a day earlier, I probably wouldn't have ruined my DMG  If I ever get another DMG, I will totally backlight it with step by step pictures instead of this guide ->

Do not use der warst's. It looks so bad, so terribly bad.
