I have three exactos; this is not the issue. I got it down to the glass; the problem is that the LCD only displays garbage lines with nothing related to what should be on the screen.
That actually sounds like a messed up lcd cable. Might have broke or pulled up part of it.

Uh, it appears you just slapped a few overly bright LED's on the side of a screen - did you see my updated version? You should really look into a light distributor so it's even and not blinding. Also, you say your battery lasts 2 hours - mine seems to be the same as the original game boy pocket's battery life, as I've been playing mine here and there for way over 8 hours.

It appears that he used a CD cover or something; While not terrible, you are far better off with a real light diffusion piece.

If you are using a CD cover, have you tried sanding it? While not perfect, it will work much, much better.

If you need any ehlp, me and Bibin are the guys to ask.

Do either of you guys have a guide written up for this mod? I saw the frontlit GBA mod guide, which was cool, but what I really want to do is mod my GBP. If I have an old style GBP that lacks the power LED, am I screwed? Thanks.

No guide yet, we have considered making one, but need to work out the bugs first.

And the old one works just fine. :D

If you need help, hit me up on AIM/google chat (If I am on).

Nope, that is what I used and it turned out fine. If anything it'll up your battery life.

No guide yet, we are still working it our ourselves.

If we posted something now, it would take a lot of time, and be outdated once we get the whole thing done 100% the best way. The GBP has been without backlight for years, it can handle a few more months. ;)

I'm going to be doing this again, with a DS lite backlight at that, so I'll take pics and maybe even video it for you guys.

REVIVED FOR EPIC IMPROVEMENT:

So much more even now. This is still using 1 LED by the way; the spots at the top are because of some black tape I forgot to remove.

Is this using the DS backlight, or an LED and some a light diffuser? If it's the latter, what are you using to defuse the light?
