Game Gear (on a chip) Port Addition

Post by Blank-Disk » Wed May 14, 2008 11:06 pm

Okay, what i'm talking about here is making it so i can play any Game Gear game on a GGOAC. I found a Game Gear Controller to TV deal at K-Mart that came with Sonic Blast on it. I pulled it, and my old Game Gear apart, and it seemed straight forward enough. The game's ROM chip on the GGOAC was quite obvious, and looks easily removable. THe problem is that on the Game Gear Cartirdge port, I count 23 pins on each side, but on the GGOAC, i count 22 pins on each side. does anyone know why the extra pin is missing? Also, is there a previosuly done pinout of this setup?

I do know there is a gamegear on a chip thats portable. It's called playpal. Heres a pic. [IMG]http://www.pixfans.com/wp-content/uploa ... 05.jpg[IMG] I've never actually gotten one but there would probably be possible to add a game pin to it.

After re-reading this, I think the extra pin is to enable Master System mode. There probably is a pin-out of the Game Gear cartridge slot, and you could take a guess as to the ROM chip inside and compare pinouts.
