Getting emulators to run on PSP...
Post
by CronoTriggerfan » Mon Oct 29, 2007 4:50 pm
Okay, this has pissed me off for a while now, and I had previously given up. I'm trying to run Daedalus R12 and SNES9xTYL 0.4.2 ME on my custom firmwar'd PSP running 3.40 OE-A, and each time I load all the proper folders for each game into the PSP/GAME directory, I boot the emulator, and it kicks me back to the cross-media bar and says
Code: Select all
The game could not be started.
(8002014C)
So two simple questions:
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
How do I get these emulators to work? PSOne games are getting boring!
Thanks!

Make a Game150 folder in the same folder that the Game folder is in. Put the emulators there.

Or, you can boot into recovery mode and change the game folder homebrew kernel to 1.50.

Oh, okay! Thanks, works like a charm.
Funny though, the three or so guides I've read all told me to put them in the Game folder...

They were probably pre-custom firmware guides for 1.50

WTF.
I have 3.51 firmware.

Simple. You have a corrupt file or a file that is the wrong format.

You can't run homebrew on official 3.51. You need to downgrade with the Pandora battery.

Well, error codes are usually specific to the device..

That specific error code means that the kernel couldn't load the specified filename.

... Meaning that the filename has an illegal character or the filename is too long? Just guessing here.

On running homebrew on official firmware, what exactly is preventing us from signing the code?
