The final layout of the VGA output was finished this morning:
Image
You need:
1x PSP (unless you're sure to goof then make that 2 or more )
1x spare or severed ribbon cable (for risk free operation)
1x roll lead free solder, or solder lead
1x tube flux for soldering work
1x 15W solder iron or regulated iron
1x component cable (or any that you find laying around the house)
1x HI-1178 DAC (can be bought for ~15$ at your local electronics store) *

* A Sony clone of that DAC can be found in other Sony devices, like broken PS2 consoles. The part number is CXD1178.

Let me make sure that I understand this correctly. The PSP screen only accepts digital RGB signals, but the phat PSP can output analog RGB?

I think it outputs digital RGB, normally. It looks like this takes the digital signal from the PSP and converts it to analog with that chip.

Yep, that is exactly what the DAC is doing.

You would need a similar ADC.

We got smart enough people here who can figure it out. And it looks like we a good possblity of it might work too. Someone get cracken on it.

The prospects of my Namco Portable(or any other portable) using a psp screen just got a chance.

Who knows if the Namco Portable will ever become a reality? :P
