what if you're a moron and shorted pins 5 and 6?
It won't turn on with the battery in it, but if I plug in the AC and turn it on, then put in the battery, then unplug the AC, it works ;p
So did I break it? Or is this normal behavior for a pandora battery? I haven't made the memory stick up yet, so I was just curious... what does 'service mode' look like?
EDIT: It won't turn on with the battery in it AND plugged into AC. Only when I have the battery out will it power on... so the battery's failing check somehow.

Please see my post in Tech Q & A. I'm having troubles. Shorting Ground + the pin beside it. is the battery gone (for PSP use), or did I just erase the EEPROM data / screw the data up.
And if I fried it, it'll still work as a jigkick right?
Hey, sup?

Normal behavior for a jigkick (at least one made by this tutorial, I don't know about as softmod jigkick) is to turn on the PSP when the battery is inserted, even with no memory stick inserted.
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

Does the PSP start right when you insert the battery? If it does then you didn't make the memory stick correctly. If it doesn't then you did something wrong modding the battery (perhaps the pin is still contacting the board?).

The power LED doesn't come on when you put it in?

I have a feeling he didn't do anything involving the memory card. (My problem will either be solved or not by a homebrew psp if i get one.)

Yeah, but even without the MS the power light should still come on when the battery is inserted.

Try it without the battery and just have the PSP plugged into the charger. Then you can use the PSP to configure the memory stick however you need to.

well cutting it. But i guess that would mess up the battery now would it? So the answer is no.
