I was recently inspired by Surface Tension's Double7 arcade table and decided to build my personal take on this design. I have built several tables before so I am hoping to finish this sometime soon. So far I have built the control panel, the center structure to support the drawer and legs, and have cut the legs and top out. Once everything is fitted together I am going to ebonize the wood, coat it in a matte lacquer, and install the screen and pc board.

Some progress pictures. Everything but the top has been cut, drilled, and fitted together. I am sanding everything down one final time and will then begin staining and lacquering everything.

Re: Arcade Coffee/Cocktail Table
I have taken all the unnecessary parts off the computer I am using for the brains, I finally have a screen, and just ordered the CF card I will be using for storage. Next on my list is building the internal frame for the screen and PC board.

Found some time to work on it this week. I will post pictures of the top soon. Below is a picture of the base with the frame that will be supporting the screen, motherboard, and speakers/amplifier.

Speaker cabinets have been built I need to build a box for the sub and amplification system and the audio will be complete. The top and other remaining woodwork has been cut and sanded, just waiting for warmer weather to stain and finish. Below are pics of the completed control panel.

Re: Arcade Coffee/Cocktail Table
We had a couple days in the 60/70s which allowed me to put some preliminary coats of lacquer on the tabletop. It still requires extensive sanding and several coats but with temps back in the 20s it will be a while before that happens. Here are some more progress pics.

Re: Arcade Coffee/Cocktail Table
Powered everything on for the first time today since I broke down the PC back in August and everything still works! Most of the internal wiring is finished and I will be picking up the glass this week. After that all I have is final assembly and it is finished.
