Building a JAMMA SNES Couple questions

Post by Tighe » Wed May 30, 2012 8:00 am

Really just 1, I haven't opened the SNES yet to see if the power is knocked down to 5v with a voltage regulator, but I need to run the SNES on +5v as you need a +5v load on a switcher in a JAMMA arcade cabinet to not damage it. The SNES takes 10V in the input. I suppose I could connect the negative to the -5v and the positive to the +5v to get the 10v to power the SNES.

The question is, does the SNES actually run on +5v on the board?

See Ben's post here and the SNES how to in my signature. That should answer some questions.

I have the SNES wired up via RGB to a JAMMA fingerboard. I removed the voltage regulator and connected up the RGB. Looks like I will need to add a video amp circuit.
