Post by offcutter » Mon Jan 17, 2011 11:14 am

i have a ps2 styled controller for pc,it does connect to pc but the problem is its left analog.for some reason the stick is always sending signal to the pc as if im pushing it down. So whenever i connect it to my pc and start a game the game menu is always scrolling down or the playable charecter move to the 'down' direction...does anybody have any idea whats wrong? Im a noob in this hacking stuff and only have some bookish knowledge about it....

How old is it? Old ones jam up heaps or it might be broken.

Well it can be a number of things.

The analogue stick is broken. So it may require you to open up the controller and check the solder joints as well as the pots. If all fails, just replace it by de-soldering and re-soldering a new one.

It could also be the software / hardware interface. So be sure that it is configured correctly! IE: up = joy1, down = joy2 and X = button1 or something like that...
