can you mod a pentium4 slot to i7?

Even if this was possible, the FSB on the Pentium 4 motherboard would bottlekneck the i7.

two very different architectures that use different memory, different types of chips, and the difference of having the controllers on the CPU and motherboard. Plus, the i7 is very large in comparison and requires a hefty heatsink.

This one company (friendtech.... I think) sold adapters that let you plug certain processors in different motherboards. (not talking about slockets) It all depends on compatability, I suppose.... However an i7 in a p4 motherboard seems pretty impossible. They also sold an xbox with a tualatin processor. Not too sure though.

ok how do you delete a thread and by the way they have four processor opteron six core processors so no point realy found them after i started this thread :mrgreen:
