Need advice on a Mvs arcade machine build

Post by Snip3rFire » Fri Nov 27, 2009 4:36 pm

I really need some advice about building a neo geo mvs arcade machine.

I usually spend the whole Christmas holidays playing video games, so this time I have to decided to make something.

My plan is to buy/make a supergun system, which will be connected to a monitor, 2 controllers etc. All of this will be jammed into a homemade bartop machine.

1. Will this work, or are there easier ways to do this?
2. Will this fit inside a bartop machine?
3. Where is the best place to buy parts, assuming I live in the UK?
4. And... Umm... I'm sure I'll think of something later...

If you have any other information, then I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for any and all help.

1. That will work.
2. The smaller one slot NeoGeo MVS board will fit in a bartop, but the bigger boards probably won't. Depends on how big your bartop is gonna be.
3. not that familiar on where to get arcade stuff in the UK, but there's always eBay.

For #3, ebay is a really good bet, or get the phonebook and dial up an arcade dealer in your area.

As for a bartop, you'd probably want a real arcade screen in that case, so you don't have to mess with converting the signals and everything.
Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!

Thanks for the advice
