A few years back i brought a brand new arcade monitor chassis from http://www.8liners.com for my Jamma cab. (the old monitor was non working when i got the machine) Its been working fine with my advmame and J-PAC setup. But something started to bother me recently, when a ligher image is displayed the screen gets a little darker and the colours are all dull. It has allways been like this. The 19" Picture tube (CRT) is from a TV that was broken. I used this guide to setup the board with a new tube http://www.8liners.com/datatech/monitor.html. Everything is setup currectly (Focus, red gain, H-pos and Screen etc) But theres is a setting that i have not touched the B+ voltage could this be the reason for washed out colors, darker image ect. What does the B+ setting do? Its near the power supply area of the board. Any help greatly appreciated.
Hmm, I don't know about the b voltage, but I do know what "washout" can be caused sometimes by wear and tear on the phosphor of the screen itself. Sorry I can help more on this one, otherwise I would be happy to. A good place to go for help would be the BYOAC forums.
Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!
