Is it true no version of Mame works with Raiden II?

Or do you mean to ask has anyone tried to fix the emulation yet? It's emulated, just not correctly- IE, not playable. Raiden II had a lot of custom chips that nobody seems to know anything about, so it's stalled until someone either can find datasheets or reverse engineer the chips.
Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!

There are PC and Playstation ports of it.

Or you could get the PCB off ebay and build yourself a supergun.
