Arcade and TV repair help!

Post by astronozzle » Wed Dec 18, 2013 1:38 pm

Hey y'all, hope I'm posting in the right place.

So I have two issues:

1. Vertical collapse on a Midway Mortal Kombat II arcade.

2. Samsung hls6187wx/xaa projection TV dead.

For the MKII arcade, it looks like the vertical adjustment board has already been replaced (odd looking board soldered directly, bypassing a plug). I tried adjusting it, but I could only get the picture to expand from a single horizontal line to about three inches of picture.

For the Samsung, I just get an error code on the LEDs. According to the manual I found, it's either a bad fan or an improperly closed case. I already tried bypassing the closed case switch, and the TV doesn't even try to turn on. Lamp doesn't turn, fans don't spin, nothing. I also replaced the ballast and the lamp already. I'd really like to get the Samsung fixed because I have have about a half-dozen classic systems hooked up to it.

Please let me know if y'all can help or point me to someplace that can.
I've made a huge mistake.
