Pinball Machine Side Art

Post by Slewfoot » Tue Aug 09, 2011 9:59 am

I've been thinking about tackling a pinball machine project. This is something I've wanted to do for a very long time, but just haven't for one reason or another. I've been looking at the fantastic artwork on the Bill Paxton machine and was wondering where to go to get that kind of artwork printed, what type of material were the graphics printed on, etc. A little insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

They're printed on adhesive vinyl, most sign shops can do this for you.

What about the playfield and the backglass?

Not sure. Based it being done in different stages, the playfield probably has more than one type of printing. The backglass is probably a translucent print like Translite. Ben might have covered it in more detail in the Ben Heck Show, try looking through the episodes for ones dealing with the making of a pinball machine.
