I need help getting started!

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

I need help getting started!

Post by Jørgen » Sat Sep 18, 2010 3:06 am

Hello all console modding people! :D
I am new to this site as well as new to modding consoles, but i think it looks interesting and i want to create a portable console.
So i wondered, what should i know before i start? What consoles should i choose? Where can i get the parts? Whats the price? etc..
I live in Norway but can i still order from the places you do?

Ive seen that benheck got a book released, will i learn everything i need in it and help me getting started?

Thanks in advance, regards Jørgen.

Good luck, Jorgen.

I am in exactly the same situation as you, except I am not a console modder, just a humble sage who wants to build a boombox of several systems, plus a universal controller. May the Force be with you.
CURRENTLY WORKING ON:
Project "Trinity"
So named because of its tripartite formfactor, this is basically a universal controller for PC, Mac, Linux, and a whole host of consoles including Xbox 360, all Sega, and all Nintendo consoles to date.
