Wii Laptop Battery Help!

Post by stanokaka » Sat Sep 11, 2010 4:55 pm

Hey,
I'm planning on building a Wii Laptop and its going to be running off batteries.
But I've got a bit of a prombelm with the batteries.
I don't know what ones I should pick?
I'm stuck between 3 choices:
1)11.1v li-ion 5700 mAh laptop battery
2)12v NiMh 5000 mAh battery-batteryspace
3)6 3.2v rechargeable LifePO4 cells (4 will be used to add up the voltage to 12.8v and other two to add up mAh to 6600) 3300 mAh each battery(off batteryspace)

Does anyone know what would be the best battery for the wii? Voltage and mAh wise?
Thank You

AS

some observations:

- A Ni-Mh battery of the same capacity of a lithium battery weighs about twice as much (check weight. consider.)
- If you want a 12v, 6600mAh pack, then you need 8 cells (2x4 cell array) ... What you described makes no sense (1x4 + 2 extra???)

Well the cells are 3.2v 3300maAh each. I would need six so I would add up 4 of the batteries so that their voltage to 12.8v and then another too so I could add up there mAh to 6600 mAh.
