Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

cheap 7.4v 5500mAh Li-po battery for n64p?

Post by Normano » Thu Sep 02, 2010 8:22 am

Hi!
I'm new to this forum but I've read on most n64 threads that isnt more then a year old on this forum.
Anyway.
I'm looking for a battery to have for a n64p and found this: (battery on ebay) and wondering if it possible to use them? Also, where is the best place to find pcb for stop over charging?

Thanks.

Note. I will try to make a n64p, but not with a zn-45 case lol :P

Sorry for double posting.

I've been searching around the web and found infromation about these batteries.
I don't know the cable out on it(it have three wires?), however they are Li-po(if the seller don't lie) and got 35c(capacity) in discharge rate so 5500mah / 1000 = 5.5 * 35 = 192.5 amps as max output but if the n64p dont need that it will not give that?
Still I'm wondering if they will work with a n64p

The power draw always depends on what the load demands, not what the batteries "push out". That rating is the maximum load the batteries can handle.

However, the opposite is true for voltage. If you have a 12v battery, and hook up a 5v device to it, it's going to get fried with 12v of power. In that case you would need a transformer or voltage regulator to step the power down to 5v.
