Cellphone Style MP3?

Post by Trasion » Tue Jun 22, 2010 8:08 pm

I wanted to make a custom MP3 using old cellphone parts, and put it together in a nice case with lights and a glossy color to it. I want to have a USB connection so that I can add music to the 'MP3', and was wondering if there would be an easy way to get Wifi, so I could make a program to download songs like Limewire?

What you do is, you get 3 cellphones, preferably made by Samsung, Nokia and Motorola.
Take them apart completely.
If you have a Nokia, use it's screen, they are the best.
Next you will want to solder the screen onto a Samsung motherboard as it has great speed and good software.
Now you will want to connect the Motorola speakers and buttons onto the unit by simply soldering onto any metal you can find.
Now, encase it in an SL-68P from polycase and paint it!
After this all you have to do is go out, buy an MP3, and use it.
Good luck!

I also wanted a keypad to do song searches and stuff.

But why would I need the MP3?

He meant you can do all you want with the parts, but in the end it won't work. So don't bother. To put it in perspective, you'll probably have better luck using twigs and dirt to make an MP3 player.
Just buy an MP3 player, and, if you want, put it in a custom case.

There are some kits out there for making MP3 players. It would be 1,000,000,000,000,000^9 times easier than using cellphone parts.
