I have never seen a battery like this:

I know one end is positive and the other is negative, but how to you charge it? Don't lithium ion batteries usually have three places for the charger to touch?

It's the same as a normal lithium cell except that it's AA shape and not flat. Majority of lithium cells that I've seen don't have a 3rd contact. As far as I know, only the one's with built in protection circuits have the third, which still isn't 2 contacts on the cell, just 3 on the protection circuit.
