Strange video card problem (Splinter Cell Double Agent)

Post by lifeisbetterwithketchup » Tue Mar 25, 2008 5:09 pm

My friend installed Splinter Cell Double Agent on his computer. However, it refused to play. It claims his video card does not meet the requirements for the game. It claims that his card has 1(!)MB of video RAM, and needs at least 128MB to run. He has an 8600GTS with 256MB video RAM.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this error?

Sorry it took awhile to get back on this.

I ran all the DirectDraw and Direct3D tests and they were all successful. Splinter Cell still doesn't work. (Other games do.)

Hmm. Sounds like either the card's bad, or it shares system RAM as VRAM.

The tests should be successful-- it doesn't look like a DX problem. The card is either bad or its not installed, or whatever bic said. :?

I'd think the same, but other games work fine. :?
