Harddrive Recovery?

Back again with even more PC problems. I have a usb harddrive that was supposedly set to be "hotswappable". Well the other day I unplugged it abruptly (as usual) and when I returned and plugged it in...nothing...nothing at all. The drive shows up with a different name (was named "Omega" now shows up as "U3 System Files") and when I try to open it it just hangs up and sits there. Any way to recover what's on there?
