Thats what I do when my parents lock me out of the computer, just hibernate XP and stick a Live CD in, they get home, take it out and bring XP out of hibernation. Good for web surfing, bad for games.

Why not just accept that you spend waaaay too much time on the computer. Show them that you're not reliant on the computer, and they'll give you your time back.

I think he was questioning how he could freeze time with the BIOS, not what a BIOS is.

DESCRIPTION:

TimeParadox is a condensed application for Windows 32-bit
operating systems that is designed to help poor little nooblets
such as ShockSlayer with problems created by their parents. In
ShockSlayer's case, his parent installed a security program that
creates a time-based limit on computer accessibility. It checks
the system's clock to detemine if ShockSlayer has been a bad boy
and has gone over his given time limit. Alas, this is where
TimeParadox comes in to save the day.

DETAILS:

Upon starting up the executable, TimeParadox will immediately
set the local system clock to 12:xx PM. It will preserve the
date, and the seconds and milliseconds. TimeParadox runs in the
background, and is programmed to reset the clock back to 12:00
PM when the time reaches 2:00 PM. Thus resulting in an infinite
loop and plenty of "happy time." To stop TimeParadox from
running, you must manually go into the task manager and terminate
the application.

PS: The only difference between the normal and fancy app is the
icon.
Normal: 3.00KB
Fancy: 98.00KB

Something tells me that your parents just might catch on if you're on the computer for 6 hours but the timer only gives you something like an hour, not an issue if your parents aren't home when you're on, though.

I remember those days.

Now I have my own computer. Also I have so much prons backed up the internet is just that much less necessary.

I recommend you save your money and just buy your own computer. Even something like a PSP or a GP2X can browse the web.

GP2X can't surf the web unless you get a usb host cable for it, a wifi stick, a driver for the wifi stick (that you compile yourself), AND a web browser (I'm not sure one exists). Not exactly easy.

Actually, you can just download the browser and any other software for free at archive.gp2x.de. As for the hardware, all you need is the dongle and break-out box (which, by the way, can do all sorts of crazy awesome stuff).

Is this a shameless plug for the GP2X? Kind of, yeah.
