Ok hi guys i won't be able to explain this very well so bare with me. OK so my problem is well more like a question on a Stereo when its playing the sound comes from the speakers, but when you plug in headphone the sound no longer comes from the speakers but though the headphones. My question is how do you divert the sound when headphones are plugged in, as this is for a portable i'm working on. If anyone can help me out that would be excellent. Cheers^_^
(Sorry if the heading is bad i couldn't think of anything else, sorry)

I'd put a switch for headphone on/off, switching between headphone output and speaker output, much like one does for video out.
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

I dont know why no one has said this yet, but they sell jacks with built in switches.

And are set up just for this job.
Usually a stero plag has 4 ports, gnd, left right and switched gnd.
Try it with your fav multimeter from Rat Shack!
