Why do my wireless controllers keep malfunctioning?

Post by Retromaster » Sun Jan 28, 2007 12:24 am

I once a long time ago got a nice wireless ps1/ps2 controller.....then of course the damn thing malfunctioned by turning the camera on screen around and around. So I got a nice new controller that was wireless for my mother...and just right now it malfunctioned and turned the camera around and around. Why the hell does this keep happening? is there any way I can fix it? Will every living wireless controller I get die? WHY I SAY......WHY......?

by the way check out our new site: http://www.miumu.com/phpbb/index.php?mforum=xportables
it is soon to have console portable tutorials as I AM....SUPER MODERATOR OF MIUMU.COM!!! (who is in fact going to write them....)

edit by mod: Part of the whole secret to writing threads is making topics that describe what you're trying to say. And a word of advice: you're not going to get a lot of people to go to a spinoff BH forum. -bicostp

WHY.......are you still talking in caps and making confusing topic titles?

In that case, confusing posts. Try being more descriptive? Pictures? Have you taken it apart?

I haven't taken it apart ever. it's almost brand new. It might be the joystick, but it doesn't move and it still turns the camera. topic name changed. here's a pic:

I doubt that gave much info....And the only caps in the post was in the name...which is now changed.....are you able to determine anything?

It sounds more like you are having some kind of interference between the controller and the TV. Could be a 2.4ghz phone, or wireless internet, I dunno. Stuff like that happens to me a lot.

well....the tv was on....which does emit radio frequencies, but I doubt it would be strong enough to mess the signal up....but about wireless internet....I DO have a computer emitting radio waves, but I thought it would be too far away to do anything....I GUESS the mystery continues...

Unplug it. What might be happening is that it continues to think that you are holding the analog stick sideways.

OK, I unplugged it multiple times before, and that didn't work, but maybe if I try again now that frequencies have changed, it might work.let me try it out...

well, it had the analog light on all night and wouldn't turn off until I removed the batteries, which then reset it, and solved the problem....
but why does this keep happening...?
