Sound causes distortion (And battery help)

Post by Kurt_ » Sun Oct 15, 2006 3:50 pm

My portable's guts are about 95% complete. I just have to have a switch for the controller and hook up a seperate 7805 for power, as the one attatched to the screen gets too hot to be next to my Li-Ions.

And then there's the problem. The screen goes all crazy wavy.

Sometimes the problem completely dissapears, but for the most part it doesn't.

I have a seperate audio amp, and it's the source of the problem. When the power is disconnected, everything is fine.

The audio amp is grounded to both the batteries and the common ground of the system.

All wires are connected nice and sturdy.

Any clue?

Then why don't you find it?

Kurt, can you give some more details on how things are wired up? How is the audio amp connected? What did it come from?

Because:

1. It's not my problem
2. I'm lazy
3. It's not my problem

If you want to post just for the sake of posting, go somewhere else. If you'd like to help, I'm sure you can find the time to post something that will be worth reading.

Kurt, you might want to check this out:

Children, children!

I checked it out, and placed a decoupling capacitor in various places (2000uf) and still nothing.

The Audio amp is connected as follows (minus the speaker outs)

DC In:
+: Goes to battery +
-: Goes to battery negative

In 1:Left SNES audio
In 2: Right " " " "

Ground: Common ground, which IS attatched to the screen, snes, batteries, and audio amp.

EDIT:

I found the problem (why it won't turn on, not the sound problem), and now need a solution. One of the battery tabs fell off (it was merely pressed together to the battery).

I tried to connect it, but it doesn't work too great. How do I connect it?

I wish I could explain it better.
