On/Off light switch?

I'm not sure which portable I want to make yet (I really want to make a portable PSOne, but I think that's out of my skill range right now), but I do know that I want it to look very home-made. I don't want proffesional.

So, I was wondering, instead of using those dinky switches to turn the portable on/off, can I use a light switch? I know that it would take up a lot more space with a big, bulky light switch, but I don't care about size. I just want it to look cool.
