Has anyone had any experience using adjustable Buck-Boost converters like MAX710/711's? It seems like it'd be a better power source because it can also raise the voltage, and I'm just wondering if an inductor has to be in the circuit. Inductance is something that I don't want to have to deal with.
Advice appreciated, Thanks.

well those models are meant to use a "single small inductor", so their max current output is only 500mA. You might be able to run an NOAC and a small LED modded screen off of that, but 500mA isn't enough for most portables
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
