1. if i have two rc batterys hooked up to a gamecubes main power will it still take power when its off.

2. what is the best way to be able to switch between battery power and wall power.

If you turn the system off it will not draw any power. The PSU has an open circuit so no electricity is going around.

I believe the item is a DIP switch. It has a prong that you can have in the jack for the wall PSU and when you put the connector into it opens the circuit that uses the batteries. I'm not 100% sure that the name is right someone should confirm if I'm right.
