Shelf life of batteries

Post by CronoTriggerfan » Mon May 15, 2006 9:46 pm

I've been wondering abou this for a while; is there really any truth to the claim that Ni-MH batts have that whole "memory charge" problem? I know it exists in Ni-Cd's, but what about Ni-MH batts? I'm wondering because I have one in my SNESp right now, and I wanna know how long it'll last me. Here's a link:

And just for kicks, could 'ya tell me how long this one'll last? It's the one most of my customers want in their portables because it's cheaper  .

(I use that charger to charge my Ni-MH batt pack, if that matters at all)

Thanks,

An average Nickel-based battery has a life span of 1000 charges. Your life span may vary.

In an unrelated topic, use BBCode so your links don't appear so long and ruin the page. It goes like this:

Code: Select all

Yes, NiMH cells have the same memory effect as NiCd, but not as pronounced. You shouldn't have a probem as long as you don't overcharge them.

it should last longer if you charge it before completely draining it. same goes for nicad.
