Welcome to Soldering 101, brief soldering tutorial videos. All videos are in WMV or XviD. Each lesson is about 5 - 10 minutes in length, and all should be very informative to the experienced solderer, or the new solderer.
THANK YOU POD FOR HOSTING!
Tools needed for this guide:
Soldering iron - pencil type
Really thin solder from RadioShack (comes in tube)
Wire cutters
Needle nose pliers
OPTIONAL - RadioShack helping hands
Quick episode guide:
Soldering 101: Class 1 (wmv)
Soldering 101: Class 2 (wmv, music by me)
Soldering 101: Class 3 (wmv)
Soldering 101: Class 4 (wmv)
Soldering 101: Class 5 (DivX - 167 MB)
Soldering 101: Class 6a (DivX - 76 MB)
Soldering 101: Class 6b - PSP 2.71 SE-A Custom Firmware Demonstration (Pre-release, no editing) Google Video
Soldering 101: Class 7: Xbox 360 Flashing (?): SOON.
ENJOY!

Quick Tips!
These are some bad examples of soldering. Don't do those. To avoid a "cold solder joint" add a bit of solder to it if you reheat it. Remember to heat up both the pad and the wire at the same time, so you get an electrical connection.

Cool. I've never done anthing with solder before ever so that was very informative. Now, Go make more! Also you may benefit from a slightly larger bitrate. maybe 512k.

Then the file would be around 25 MB and it would take way too long to download. 8.41 MB is a good number. Both broadband and dialup users can download it.

Well the majority of us have high speed.

Maybe a smaller file for dial-up, and a larger file for the rest of us.

Great idea... keep them coming. It would be nicer if you had a higher quality version so we could see better but its still really cool that your doing these.

I'm working on the 3'rd episode, and so far I've done perfboard. Any other questions I can add? I'll change to a higher-res version after episode 3.

I'm really happy people are finally starting to give a crap about the members here, making tutorials and such.

Thumbs up, vb_master.

I'd watch them, but I'm lazy. maybe after school tomorow. (Damn, school's tomorow!)

I deserately need them. 2 SNES's broken in less than 2 weeks of recieving them.

I sem to make some complete n00bish mistakes.

Anybody mind making a tutorial of things that shouldnt touch other things while the things are on and stuff like that?

I've been planning this series for quite a while now, but now that's it's spring break (2 weeks off!) I can make them a reality.

Awesome. It's pretty in depth, so I think it'll help a lot of the newer members, a lot.

I'm going to try to tackle desoldering sans desoldering braid.

2 weeks off?

We used to get 2 weeks. They switched it to 1

And we also get 40 minute lunches. I'm sure they'd give us 5 minute lunches, but 40 is the legal minimum allowed.

What about the pump method? Because it is harder, I think it should be described thouroughly.

Maybe something on how to use a multimeter/voltmeter. Maybe something on wire stripping a techniques. I've been seeing cries for help about those things around here.
