C-sync and composite

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

C-sync and composite

Post by c_mon » Mon Aug 29, 2011 5:47 pm

I'd like to ask if C-sync and composite lines do the same job. I have a screen that only has R_G_B_ solder pads. I couldn't find a solderpad on the circuit labelled as c-sync or sync. So, while hooking a RGB source, would it be proper to solder RGB signals to those RGB solder pads and C-sync from the source to composite line? Any help would be appreciated..

That probably would work. You could always look up the datasheets for the chips on it if in doubt, though it's unlikely to damage the board if it can't use composite video for composite sync.

I already looked up the datasheets for the chips but couldn't find the pn information. I think the chips on the board are quite rare. Anyway, thanks for your help...
