Un-portablize some handhelds.

Here's a stupid one that you probably haven't heard before, make an unportable handheld. You're always jamming things into small things, so why not make a small thing into a big thing.

Because where's the challenge in that? :P (besides decoding LCDs)

The only things I can think of doing would be a Sega Nomad back into a regular console (what kind of video output is there to its screen?) or a Game Boy Advance with a video-out cartridge. The GBA would be something I'd be interested in doing if I had the resources or the time, sadly I have neither.

Hahaha yes, I had this in consideration when I made that post, I suppose I was talking about doing the mod for the sake of modding

edit: @vskid I still don't have the time or resources to do that!

I've thought of this too, and would attempt it if I had time and resources. Why has no one done it?

The biggest reason probably has to do with the LCD. To un-portablize a handheld (assuming that you want to have a bigger screen, like a TV), you would need to figure out the control signals that the handheld sends to the LCD, then convert that to composite video/s-video/RGB. Which is not to say that it couldn't be done, just that it's notably harder than wiring up a console's composite out to the composite in of a small screen.

Fight MS Paint abominations! If you don't have a camera, go here, and pick something 3 megapixels or higher.

Ah, forgot about that  haha that does sound tedious, still kinda surprises me no one's done it though.
