I got the ps1 slim menu to boot on the ps1 fat by desoldering the boot rom on the ps1 slim (IC102), and replacing it with the boot rom on the ps1 fat.
ROM desoldered from ps1 slim -
and then soldered into the ps1 fat -

wierd. my schp 9000's series have the same boot menu as the ps1 slim, the different menus for my ps1's are 7000/5500/1000.
