I don't see any real need for disk drive covers either, but that seems to be the first thing people pick up on. Nice work btw. What batteries did you use?

I used some 11.1v 5000 mAh LiPos, they are huge, which is why I have the GC+DD in the JB-55 in the back.

It just would not fit all in the ZN-45.

without a cover you could destroy the disc or disc drive if you drop it

Well what is a little piece of plastic going to protect? Either way it will screw something up, cover or not. Thats why you just don't be stupid with it. :)

wait... no, It seriously does, turn it on it's face and paint it camo, you got yourself a tank... You could even put a turret on the drive for good measure.

Or I could just put a buzz saw on the DD and over volt it, causing it to be a minor Circular saw.
Idea taken from SS

If you do that then it would be a good idea to change the name to Paincube. Every time you lose a life, you really lose a finger.

edit: Either way it looks awesome! Good job.
