PalmerTech bought my 95% finished GCp so I could pay for it.
CONSTRUCTION BEGINS. We removed the roof and put in a floor with a hatch(forgot to take pics) and then put the first wall supports up.
Floor with hatch.
2 wall supports up. And my dad is in thar
Roof and side supports.
Fixed up my door with GORILLA TAPEZ.
Puttin some walls up.
Shingled roof FTW
THERE'S NO CARPET OR ELECTRICITY IN HERE YET OMG
Wooden box part is done.
Insulated the roof. You can also see the plug for the lights I will be getting sometime and the vent up in da corner.
Insulated the walls. The styrofoam(not what you're thinking of, this stuff is like 9x thicker and more durable) had not been glued on yet, just cut to fit.
I have an outlet in the corner. GO ME!
The switch for the lights. Power bunnyhops off of the below outlet. The cover isn't on it nor is the styrofoam on the wall because I would soon be installing the air conditioning, and that's the wall it's gonna go on.
This 2nd outlet is below the switch. The wires are exposed because I hadn't covered them yet.
The styrofoam that goes where the air conditioner will be. It has yet to be cut to fit the air conditioner, which is why it's off.
The hatch is open, leading to the floor below.
The hatch is closed, sealing off the 2nd floor.
I like the hinges, they hinge the hatch so I don't lose it, and so it's less work to move around.
The handle. So I can open it. There is nothing worse than being trapped in a room alone in the dark with no friends.
Moar awesome hingey-ness pictures. You can sorta see the 4x4 and 2x4 supports for the hatch, so I'm not gonna fall because it slips off. Also, you can see how thick the hatch itself is.
I have yet to build in the ladder, something on the list to do. We have the parts necessary, I will probably do that the same day I install the air conditioner.
Air conditioner finally installed woot
Smoke detector installed incase crap goes down
Installed lights, the picture may look dark, but the 2nd level is 9x brighter and awesome.
HOLY BALLSACK CARPET
Computer wootness
I can sleep in here.

Impressive!
Hope though that the neighbors don't complain - your lair is now visible over the fences...

Awesome man, I like it!
But, how structurally sound is your tower of power?

Kyo is properly jealous. "Lulz! Hahahaha!" - That part made me chuckle. Overall, very nice and I am jealous of you for having such an awesomely cool lair. I guess I gotta build my own now to compete with you. Actually it's winter so this might not be the best time. DAMN YOU!
Re: (OMG56KRUN) SS's Tower of Power. (My workshop)
Completely awesome. I started thnking about how I could build my own while reading that, but then I realized I live in my own apartment.
That's cool, SS. You finally got your own place. I recommend not telling your parents, and start expanding downward.

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Me too. That's why it's in my backyeard, so not a far walk to live in my own house. I mean, I COULD if I wanted too.qerkdtx wrote:See I think thats cool, but after a week id rather live in my house
No windows(yet), and no concrete plans now. Each individual part was small enough to fit through the hatch(24x24) so I assembled it up there.limpport wrote:No windows up there? How'd you get the desk up there? Looks awesome! Wish I had one.....
Thanks! It's very structurally sound, we went over this on MR.nightwheel wrote:Awesome man, I like it!

Also discussed on MR! I live in South Carolina, so that's not an option. It's the same reason we don't have basements.collinE wrote:Completely awesome. I started thnking about how I could build my own while reading that, but then I realized I live in my own apartment.

I dunno, I feel like the fact that your in a fort would were out in about a week. Then youd be like, well my room is better. I know I would cuz I love my room, maybe ss's room is terrible
Re: (OMG56KRUN) SS's Tower of Power. (My workshop)
I guess it's a bit small, but if you heat it, it shouldn't be any worse than your room.
