Very nice. I met someone at summer camp four years ago that made one almost exactly like yours, but the cartridge was interchangeable. He brought it to camp because it was his only Gameboy.

Please show me how to calculate

Re: Gameboy calculator!
Mine is too, only you have to take apart the game. If you want to keep the game in the cartridge, it would eliminate it being stealthy.limpport wrote:Very nice. That's exactly what he had to do with his

Why not cut the back plate up so you can remove a piece to change the game? Have it held on by magnets or velcro.
Re: Gameboy calculator!
Because then the back cover doesn't fit on, and it wouldn't be stealthy.vskid wrote:Why not cut the back plate up so you can remove a piece to change the game? Have it held on by magnets or velcro.

I am interested in doing this. Can you post a guide or the process at least? What tools will I need?
Thanks in advance!

I'm in florida now , so I can't get any pictures, but here's the deal:dougymak wrote:I am interested in doing this. Can you post a guide or the process at least? What tools will I need?

You'll need a torx screwdriver for the calculator, a tri-wing screwdriver for the gameboy, a hot glue gun, a very five tip soldering iron, and some black felt.
You'll need to de-solder all of the surface mount items on the calculator pcb, and the led of the gbc.
Follow the traces on the calculator buttons to find the pins and solder them to the contact pads on the gameboy.
You need to remove the foam on the back of the GBC screen to have it fit.
To take apart the game cartrige, pry it with a flathead.
Dremel out the inside of the calculator case except for the screw holes.
You won't be able to use the calculator battery cover.
Re: Gameboy calculator!
I was thinking about doing this one time when I got bored in math class. Though I was thinking of using a TI-30 shell, since that`s what we use in class, and if I had what appeared to be an advanced calculator people would become suspicious. But the TI-30s just too small... Maybe if I got a GB micro...
Re: Gameboy calculator!
Hello! I'm about to do the same mod, could you please describe in detail the specific solder points? Pictures would be GREATLY appreciated, but if you don't have any and do not wish to take apart your modded "calculator" I totally understand

Very nice! Glad to see you used the d-pad as the d-pad.
This post brought to you by David Duchovny's glorious nipples.
Re: Gameboy calculator!
I know, using the buttons on the front was my main goal. I'm getting another broken screen calculator from a friend, Revision 2 might be coming around this winter...Tibia wrote:Very nice! Glad to see you used the d-pad as the d-pad.
No pics, but I did send you an email. In case you didn't get it, just follow the traces on the calculator board front, until you reach little holes where you can solder the wires to.Ruslan120 wrote:Hello!
