My first handheld (N64P) is complete

Click image to go to my n64p's page.

I learned a lot, after breaking some n64s and two PSOne screens (first one ribbon cable woes, second one got chipped glass), and having to rip stuff up from gallons of hotglue.
Only thing that I think needs improvement are the controls, the analog stick mod didn't work out so well (semi works), and the buttons don't have a very good "feel"... just slight travel.

The old content of this post has been removed, I solved the issue.

Update: fixed analog stick :D

Very good job! It would look even better/cleaner if you put the screen on the inside!

That looks amazing!! I really love the look that is given off by the clean-cut white plastic. Very nice job. :)

Moved to the News forums, as this is a completed project.

Feel free to submit this to the showcase.

excellent job. perhaps trying to finish the zenith lcd with a complete black finish would improve its look. nonetheless excellent first project.

how long did it take you?

Awesome... seeing all these n64s makes me really want to rip one apart. How do you have the l/r/z buttons set up? I'm starting to want to do one of these systems, I've never owned one.
If you're getting 404'd when trying to use the links in stickies, try this tutorial to find that juicy info.

I started it wayyyyy back when for this competition.

L and R are triggers on the side of the portable, Z is both clicking on the analog stick (it's a playstation (2? iirc) analog stick), and with a buttton on the bottom/back of the console.

Very nice.
A truly wise man can entertain a thought without accepting it. A fool cannot withhold past judgments but instead closes his mine to new possibilities. Someone who wants to innovate simply needs to forget what everyone says isn't possible.

Having z be clicking the analog stick is a great idea! Does that work well for targeting in zelda, or do you just use the one on the back of the system?

Fixed analog stick, at the expense of clicking it for Z, as I could not find another analog stick that clicked. Oh well. Anyways, would it be alright to enter this in the Portable Palooza? I did start it for the last one, but I didn't get that far. I only decided to complete it recently. Also: How much would this go for if I were to sell it?
