ZING!
Well put. :D

And I'm sure it's nice to see your little project attracting some publicity. Although with publicity comes idiots bashing you...

First off let me say.
AWESOME!!
I love the fact you can hide your handheld game with your NES Carts.
One question about OneStations.
More along the lines of a question about handheld emulators.
I'm wondering how to do that myslef.
I have millions of blank motherboards and a whole bunch of random things that I can put together some pretty radical things.
I just wanted to know if anyone knows how to put an emulator that you have downloaded and all that onto something that you can put in a handheld.
If I can figure this out, you'll be seeing me on a lot of those same sites.
(not to sound too coky, lol)
and again, great Mod man.

well it looks like Dealextreme.com is officially SOLD OUT of onestations. too bad too because their the ONLY place that sells them.

not rare you say? i have relatives that teach English in CHINA, and friends that went to the Beijing olympics, and they have never seen a onestation around anywhere. you cant even find them in china.

but "Power Play Joystick"s are basically free on ebay. people are giving them away to get rid of them. the local Thrift shop, value village, has a bin full of them.

1. They are not sold out, I ordered one a week ago, and my order is almost ready to ship. I just checked, they say "Ships in 1-3 days".

2. They are not the only place that sells them, they are on several import gaming stores, and there are usually a few on ebay. And not only are they still sold, but they are being made on a large scale, with new carts even being released (Like the newer Genesis carts).

3. So? Did they see any Gameboy micros or GBA SPs there? These things are a nich product, do you really think people are going to walk around (At the Olympics, no less) and spend their time playing NES games? I have talked to several people from China who are actually techies, and these things sell very well to a certain sector of people, you just have to go to the right gaming stores. The English teacher is a poor comparison; Heck, my English teacher barely knows what a DS Lite is, does that mean they do not exist in America? So, yes, you CAN get these in China, cheaply and easily, too.

4. I don't know about where you live, but I find it hard to believe they have a bin of them, unless they are way overcharging or something. Also, ebay has a new policy where they are pulling all listings for NOACs with built in games, they do not want copyright infringement.

5. Even if power plays ARE cheaply available, they are not as good for a small NOAC project. They eat way more power, run at a higher voltage, AND need a controller board and a screen. You think that a powerplay+2.5" OLED screen+battery is going to be as cheap OR as small as a onestation?

In short, everything you just stated is either false, incorrect, wrong, or false.

PWNED

totally PWNED

And what is the point of that picture? Not only is it a double post, but it is not even a portable. :?

i forgot to mention something, there are different versions of onestations; 1.regular onestation and 2. onestation ELITE

the "onestation ELITE" has a CRAPPY SCREEN. its blurry and pixelated. wheras the "regular onestation" has a awesome screen. yes, there are MANY "onestation ELITE"s InStock because they Suck.

darkeru used the "regular onestation" model, the GOOD version. which IS rare and sold out everywhere. if you make a portable with the cheap "onestation ELITE" the screen looks like shi*.

---

No offence to "darkeru". its quite impressive for a beginner.
but everybody is getting a boner over this thing, they say things like, jaw-dropping, ingenious, uber-cool and "OMG i just jizzed myself". all across the net, people are praising it as a marvel of modern technology.

whats the big deal, its been done allready!
"Kotomi" allready did it. whether it has a screen or not is meaningless. 1.would you go out in public playing a "cartridge" 2. anybody can wire in a PsOne screen.
here;

and "Ben heck" did it before everybody else.

ben heck could put a portable nes on the head of a pin

Did you look at dealextreme as I told you, or just decide that maybe if you keep repeating the same thing, it will be true? You are wrong on this, I just got my pink onestation from dealextreme today, $31 shipped. And I JUST checked, they still have them in stock. Please, if you wish to argue with people, at least understand where you are clearly wrong; How about you actually do something for yourself and go check to see if they are in stock? If they are not, feel free to rant. If not, politely STFU on this point.

Yes, it is very impressive for a beginner, quite unlike yourself, an experienced and well seasoned modder with skillz that do not suck. /Sarcasm

"Kotomi" allready did it. whether it has a screen or not is meaningless. This is a bad place to argue that, buddy. Heck, why should we even bother making a handheld N64? I mean, having a screen and batteries is pointless, right? All you need is a TV and a power cable, artards. Boy, have you shown us the light! /Sarcasm again. Seriously, if you think that having a screen, batteries, and controller built in is pointless, I have a nice broken PSP for you.

1.would you go out in public playing a "cartridge" Yes.

and "Ben heck" did it before everybody else. No.

ben heck could put a portable nes on the head of a pin Source, Mr. Fanboy?

Jeez, it seems to me that he's more jealous of the publicity than anything... but that's irrelevent.

It's a great portable - well executed and nicely designed. Better than most first attempts. Bravo!

this post got me thinking, if the goal is to make something BIGGER, Ridiculous, and more awkward than it was before, then why stop there....

Here are some of my awesome ideas for some super sweet NES portables..

I completed All these projects. and you can't prove i didn't

#1. AN NES system built into a Toilet! play it while your on the can.

Image

#2. an NES system built into a TOASTER. or how about a NES KETTLE. play NES while your making the mourning coffee.

Image

#3. why go 1 second without playing NES. make an NES fridge, an NES microwave, an NES clothes washer.

Image

#4. heck, why not make a NES built into your truck, so you can play NES ON THE ROAD......Literally!

Image

#5. what about taking the NES internationally? why not have an NES built into a BOEING 727 JET. it will be so big you will have to sit on the wing, and it will take 24 people simultaneously to play it.

Image

#6. HECK, why not make a NES built into a Dildo. so you can play NES while you are ****ing yourself.

Image

#7. OR, if thats not your thing, why not surgically implant a NES system into the back of your girlfriends head? then you could play nes while you are having relations.

Image

#8. or you could just build a giant NES bilboard in your backyard. it will take at least 3 people to operate buttons, and another person yelling commands.

Image

(oh, that last one actually does looks pretty awesome, but anyways)
