New NESp Pics!

Post by minkster » Fri Aug 25, 2006 10:45 am

Ok good news! I got a digital camera so now whatever work I do will be off of this baby rather than my crappy cellphone camera :) Bad news...NESp still happens not to work, but while it did...it worked very nicely. Here are the new pics:

One of these days I'll either fix it or make one using a NOAC or Yobo

It's a Frankin-NES, and it's alive!!! Ahhh!

No really looks great. From the size I'd guess you use the original NES motherboard, and it's obvious you hacked the NES case to make the portable's. Really nice portable.

YAY! Minktendo lives! Well, not completely, but still. Better than nothing. Nice job, Mink!

By the way, whatever happened to that SNESp of yours? Haven't heard much...

Heh, thanks guys..i just felt i should have uploaded new hi-def pics because the old one was very plain and looked fugly :)
About the SNESp, I tried vacuum forming 2 times and both times I messed up because the plastic didnt stick to the mold fully...I found out that I have to let the plastic droop 6inches or more in the oven while I was only letting it droop 3 inches. So yeah, I haven't worked on it that much this summer...to busy with friends, parties, editing movies, and gf of coarse ;) So yeah i havent been in the portablizing mood...but want to get back into it soon.

The D-Pad looks way too sunken into the case to be usable.

i was hoping you wouldnt notice that...for the pic i just popped the dpad in..since its not mounted to tact switches at the moment the pc board kind of fell out. the dpad did work totally fine before hand and wasnt sunken in.

I really like the color. It's cool how you stuck to the retro look. Even the layout looks like something from that time period. And just as an idea, you should maybe repaint it the same color or recut the cut-out peices. It has such a cool, retro look, it deserves a little percision cosmetic work. (when its done of course  )
nope... can't think of anything I could possibly want to put in my Signature Block...

Thanks guys...as for reviving it...I think the board is either messed up...or I just have real bad luck with NES boards. I think when I finish my SNESp (may be a long time from now) I will start to work on this project again. This time I will use a yobo or a noac and have it attatched to a cartslot. Then I can cut out better pieces and use bondo to make it look real nice. My goal was to keep the retro look as much as possible. I'm glad you guys liked that style because I think the retro look fit's NESp's the best of all :)
