how do you make a mobo (or any pcb) fit on a flat surface without it sliding around or anything? do you use screws or double-sided foam tape or what?

Glue, or you could use pieces of plastic dowel that go in the screw post holes. Or plastic clips. Or duct tape. But glue would be the easiest to do, especially if you aren't planning on making major repairs anytime soon.

usually hot glue. But in my first N64P I used a plastic screwpost glued to the case. I needed the screwpost to hold the mobo above the N64 controller board, and it worked great.

I use the snot of a hummingbird. You'd be surprised how strong that stuff holds when it dries...

DISCLAIMER: Lucretius has not made a single portable to his name. He is, after all, a poor and lazy dumbass. Any methods he suggests for making a portable should be taken with a grain of salt...or pepper, or any natural spice. Besides, how does one go about catching a freacking hummingbird anyway? And even if you manage that, do they even have snot?
