I'm looking for a good case material that
1) Holes can be cut easily (like with a xacto knife)
2) Is durable (contradicts 1?)
3) Takes a lot to get hot (don't know how to say it)
I haven't researched Sintra/Komatex, but from what I've heard it pretty much fits these qualifications.
Does anyone know of a material that fits these requirements?

it's the only material that I know of that fits your description.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Sweet. Thanks.
I saw your laptop (nice job by the way) and you used the same material. How did you hold/glue it together?

. Never mind. I read on your post that you used super glue and bondo to fill the cracks.

sintra has a fairly low melting temperature , black sintra will go soft under a hair dryer.
Re: Good case construction material
I knew that Sintra could be thermoformed, but I didn't know it could bend at that low of a temperature.
OMGpedobear, what would you recommend for an xbox laptop?

Re: Good case construction material
white sintra is fine, black sintra is also fine it jsut can be problematic if left in the sun on a hot day or near a 360 gpu !!!
I would still use sintra, blakc if you want with overkill cooling and very big vents so yoju dont get too much hot air going through one hole. Failing this high impact polystyrene is nice stuff to work with. If your feeling brave i have always thought a misted black acrylic portable would look AWESOME.
Sorry bout the little bump
