Laptop/clamshell style cases

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Laptop/clamshell style cases

For those of us in Euro-land I found somewhere that does a nice range of hinged plastic and aluminium cases. Perfect for laptop style projects where you want or need a clamshell design with keyboard/controls in the base, and the screen in the top.

Prices are reasonable for aluminium hinged cases compared to the run of the mill ABS plastic enclosures.

I'm thinking specifically of this for a mini-Amiga laptop I'm hoping to build.

I've got an A1200 as well (DCE Typhoon 40MHz 030/68882/40Mb and 10Gb 2.5" drive) that I put together to play games, but it's such a chore dragging it out and connecting it up to the TV all the time. When I saw the Minimig I just thought it would be really cool to have a tiny, portable system that was completely solid-state and play direct from ADF files - the ARM add-on for the PIC socket that can use UAE compatible hardfiles looks very neat too!

I've got my Amigas entered in my videogame database that I use to keep track of my inventory :)

Pictures might be slow to load as it's running from my home machine over ADSL.

my a1200 has a DKB cobra 030 @28mhz with 128mb ram, 1gb hdd and squirrelSCSI and a CD rom drive. im eventually going to overclock it and get a wifi card as well and a decent monitor so i can run WB3.5 or 3.9 with highGFX mode

i also have 2 a1000s and an a500 plus loads of other stuff for them (1010 and 1020 floppy drives, 2 1080 monitors and much more)

Minimig arrived this afternoon! Such a teeny weeny little board; I think it will make a cracking portable Amiga game system.

£150 including a power supply and delivery from Amigakit.com. I just loaded the bootloader tonight and put the latest minimig fpga core on and then tried out a few ADF's including the old favourites like SOTB, Pinball Dreams and Turrican 2 - all absolutely perfect.

It really is neat - it's virtually the same size as the controller for the PSOne screen.
