Acrylic cutting service?

Post by woox » Mon Jun 09, 2008 12:41 pm

Anyone know a place where I can have my acrylic sheets cut or order custom cut acrylic sheets, or anyone here willing to custom cut themf or me?

I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks

Acrylic is relatively easy to cut yourself. A decent tablesaw or jigsaw will do the trick.

When i lived in VA Beach there was a place called NORVA Plastics that sold entire sheets of acrylic. I found them in the phone book. I am sure if you browse the yellow pages in your area you can find one like them.

Also, if they sell the stuff... they probably will cut it for you too for a small fee.

Hardware stores and building centers will cut it for you. Most sell it by the square foot/square inch, so just give them your measurements. Most places will only cut squares and rectangles, though. Plexi can be scored with a sharp knife and snapped off with pliers. Some people also use dremel tools. A friend of mine swears by the jigsaw, but I can't get a nice edge with it.
